Two things: whether the car is new or used, and how deep you want us to go. A new-car pre-delivery inspection (PDI) is a different job from a used-car inspection: there is no service book or ownership record to read yet, and the questions are about transit damage, stock age and delivery paperwork. On used cars, the larger packages add depth rather than a longer checklist of the same things:

What one inspection found, against what it cost
A 2022 Jeep Compass with 35,368 km and one owner, inspected in Bengaluru in September 2026. It looked well kept and the automated summary graded it well. Underneath: brake pads worn to metal with the discs already resurfaced once, seven body panels repainted, an accident repair recorded in the service book five weeks after delivery, a timing belt that falls due on age in early 2027, an expired pollution certificate and an open bank loan on the car.
