In the order that matters.
The repaint matches four insurance repairs in the service book
The paint gauge found three repainted panels: the left front door (217 µm), the left rear door (369 µm) and the right fender (313 µm), against 124 to 163 µm on the untouched panels. The dealer record explains every one: a front bumper claim in 2014, a major front-end claim in 2016 that included the right fender and right headlamp, a large left-side claim in 2019 covering both left doors and the rear bumper, and a rear-end claim in 2022. None of it is structural, and the underbody is clean. But four claims in nine years is a pattern to ask about and to price in.
All four tyres are finished
Four Yokohama Geolandar, about five years old, at 3 to 4 mm with punctures on two corners and dry rot on the sidewalls. On a heavy SUV, age and tread both say replace. Budget a full set before the car is used on the highway.
Insurance lapsed in August 2025
The government record shows the policy expired on its renewal date in 2025. The car cannot legally be driven uninsured, and a lapsed policy usually means a fresh inspection by the insurer and the loss of any no-claim bonus. Settle it before money changes hands.
Steering items the dealer flagged and nobody fixed
From 2017 to 2022 the service book repeatedly records a broken steering-column boot and play in a tie-rod end, marked as not rectified; a cracked drive belt was noted in 2022. On our road test the steering tracked straight with normal free play, so this is not a present fault, but ask whether the work was ever done elsewhere.
No dealer record since 2022
The last dealer entry is April 2022 at 88,778 km. Four years without a dealer visit does not mean the car was neglected, but it means nothing after 2022 can be checked. Ask for invoices from wherever it was serviced.
Smaller items
Brake pads are low. The engine oil is dark on the dipstick. The windscreen has a star chip that can spread. The reverse-camera screen does not work. The dealer notes record a non-standard bull guard and siren/horn fitted in the past.
