What we found
In the order that matters.
The brakes are worn through: metal on metal
Pad thickness is recorded as metal-to-metal and the rotors show lip and scoring. The friction material is gone and the backing plate is cutting into the disc. The service record shows the discs were already resurfaced once at 29,230 km, so there is no material left to cut away a second time: they need replacing, not skimming. Do not take this car on a test drive at speed, and do not accept it until the work is done and invoiced.
Seven panels have been repainted: the whole right side and the rear
Paint film reads 269 to 311 µm on the right front door, right rear door, right fender, both quarters, the left rear door and the tailgate, against 103 to 153 µm on the bonnet, roof, left fender and left front door. Factory film is roughly 80 to 180 µm. This is not touch-up; it is most of the car’s paintwork redone.
The service book records an accident repair at 1,241 km
Five weeks after delivery, the right front fender was replaced along with its mounting bracket, wheel-flare moulding and fascia support bracket, plus dent repair. The seller is entitled to call it minor. What to weigh is that the repainting found today covers far more of the car than one fender, so either there was further work that is not in the book, or the whole side was blended to match. Ask which, and ask for the body-shop invoices.
The timing belt falls due on age within months
The 1.4 MultiAir is a belt engine, not a chain. The interval is 75,000 km or five years, whichever comes first, and the belt is changed with the water pump. At 35,368 km the car is nowhere near the distance, but it was built in February 2022, so the five-year limit arrives in early 2027 and lands with the next owner almost immediately.
A coolant tank and a battery both failed under warranty
At 16,944 km the check-engine light was on; the coolant reserve tank and the battery were replaced under warranty. Two component failures inside two years is worth noting. Today’s engine scan is clean with no stored codes, and coolant sits between the marks.
Small things that each need doing
Engine oil is low and the car is 16 months past its last workshop visit, so the annual service is overdue on time. The pollution certificate expired in March 2023 and must be renewed before the car can legally be driven. The right rear door is missing its cap. Three tyres are at 4 mm with the rear left due for replacement. The car is under an open bank loan, which the seller must close before the ownership can transfer.
What is genuinely good
The underbody is clean: no leaks, corrosion or deformation, seam sealer uniform, suspension and steering sound. No water-ingress or structural accident markers, and the welds read factory-like. Interior, electricals, lighting, gearbox and clutch passed without a single finding. One owner, and the registration and insurance are current.

Colour variance read a 1 to 2 µm match on every panel: the repaint matches to the eye, and thickness is what gives it away.
Tyres
Four matching tyres, about a year old. Front left 4 mm, front right 5 mm with minor dry rot on the sidewall, rear left 4 mm and due, rear right 4 mm. No cuts, cracks, bulges or punctures. Three corners at 4 mm after a year is heavy wear for the distance, which is worth asking about.
